For healthy, beautiful skin, you're better off cruising the isles of Whole Foods than the isles of Nordstrom. If you start viewing beauty as an inside job + also viewing skincare as health care, then you'll start regenerating your radiance with every bite of food you take!

1) Superfoods For A Super Glow
The superfood isle is my favorite! These nutrient rich powders give us more antioxidants, vitamins + minerals than any other food on the planet. I incorporate them into my diet everyday in smoothies, + superfood lattes. My favorite superfood berries are Acai, Goji and Maqui. They have the most vitamin C which is the building block for collagen, and help repair sun damage + environmental damage. Taking these daily is like a serum for your skin from the inside out. I also love Matcha green tea powder because it has 1000x more antioxidants than blueberries!
2) Switch Coffee For Cacao
Caffeine from coffee elevates our insulin + cortisol in just a few sips. This spike in hormones cause hyperkaratosis in our skin, which causes our oil glands to go into overdrive + our skin cells to build up. This leads to clogged pores + redness. One of the best things I've done for myself recently is switch to cacao every morning instead. Check out my Queen Of Hearts Elixir recipe! The caffeine does not effect our system + skin in the harmful ways coffee does + it's loaded with iron + B12 vitamins which leave us radiant. Plus it's a heart opener + nothing makes you glow more than an open heart! I start my day of with the Ignite Ritual Box during meditation + at home spa rituals while sipping on my cacao elixir. Divine!
3) Support Skin With Herbs
Herbs + flowers are my favorite allies, in spirit + in beauty. Take nervous system supporting adaptogens like Holy basil, ashwaganda, reishi, and turmeric to soothe inflammation + calm the body. A calm nervous system is vital for glowing skin. Drink skin softening teas like rose, chamomile, lavender and hibiscus. Use herbal infused oils like our Immortelle Elixir Serum to regenerate + repair, and use floral waters like our Dew Drops Floral Toner to soothe + soften. The essential oils in herbs + flowers are the immune system, life force + repair to the whole plant. When we use them on our skin, and in our diet, they heal our delicate skin tissues + internal tissues the same way that they heal the delicate petals + leaves of a plant.
With our skin remember: As above - so below. Feed the soils of your body with nourishing superfoods, healing herbs, and soothing adaptogens. Use botanical, organic skincare.
